Saving SHSH Blobs for iPhone 3G & iPod Touch 2G Starts by Cydia

Apple is continuously working to prevent users from jailbreaking & unlocking their iPhones. Updating iPhone firmware to block exploits used in jailbreak & unlock tools is the just one part of that work. If you are iPhone 3GS user then you might know Apple introduced ECID, SHSH blobs to stop users from downgrading iPhone OS on iPhone 3GS to previous jailbrekable version.

Basically ECID is Exclusive Chip ID, unique for every iPhone 3GS used by Apple to create signature for your iPhone every time when you restore firmware through iTunes. Now it seems same mechanism has been incorporated for iPhone 3G & iPod Touch 2G from the start of iOS 4.0 for iPhone.

The SHSH Blob check will make it not possible for you to downgrade firmware when Apple stops signing old firmware that's why now it is important for you to save SHSH Blobs for your iPhone 3G & iPod touh 2G.

To make it easier for you from today Cydia starting to save your SHSH blobs for iPhone 3G & iPod Touch 2G too. Cydia is doing this to allow you to continue to use iTunes to restore to 4.x on iPhone3G & ipt2g outside of Apple’s signing window without needing to use redsn0w or PwnageTool to get around Apple’s annoying new restriction.

So if you haven’t saved your SHSH Blobs yet then just start Cydia on your jailbroken iPhone 3G & iPod Touch 2G & get it saved today itself .
