Opera Mini 5.1 for Android is ready for Download

opera mini logo
Available as a beta since March 2010, the Opera Mini 5.1 app for Android Mobile Operating System is now ready for download.  Opera which is well-known for an extremely fast browsing experience,  uses a proxy server to compress data before it is sent to your phone.  That’s why it’s so fast.

Some new & latest improvements to final version include faster page download speeds, accelerometer support & virtual touchscreen support.  One of major complaints of the beta was no multitouch support.  Well Opera has fixed all that; the final version adds pinch-to-zoom multitouch support.  So all you Nexus One owners can breeze easy now.

One more big addition is the ability to make Opera Mini the default browser, which is a good feature not found on most other popular mobile platforms.  Opera Mini 5.1 also adds a session restore to crashed browser session & the capability to synchronize bookmarks, speed dials & search history with your Opera desktop browser.  Finally Opera has improved image quality & page rendering for all new large resolution devices like the EVO 4g & the new Droid X

Interested? You can download the final version of Opera Mini 5.1 from the Android Market or at www.opera.com/mobile/.
