SanDisk announced its new & latest SSD G4 & SSD P4 solid state drives that are designed for drop-in replacement for notebook hard disk drives & use in slim netbooks & tablets respectively. Both of them are based on SanDisk’s 32nm MLC processor technology.
The newest SSD G4 is available in 64GB to 256GB storage capacities & features 220MB/s read & 160MB/s write speeds. It offers Long-term Data Endurance (LDE) of 160 terabytes written (TBW) for a 256GB drive, sufficient for over 10 years of PC usage. The G4 also uses ExtremeFFS a page-based algorithm that considerably increases random write speeds & efficiency.
SanDisk’s SSD P4, the successor to the pSSD modular drive, comes with capacities ranging from 8GB to 128GB & is available in various form factors that include a new ultra-small variant of the mSATA module, mSATA mini. It features the nCache acceleration technology ad offers burst random 4KB performance of up to 600 IOPS.
