Seagate announced the new & latest Momentus XT series solid state hybrid hard drive that claims to be the world’s fastest 2.5-inch laptop PC hard drive. The new Momentus XT comes 250GB, 320GB or 500GB storage capacities, 4GB SLC NAND flash memory & 32GB cache memory to deliver SSD-like performance along with higher capacity at a lesser cost.
Momentus XT operates at 7200RPM & specifications Seagate’s new & latest Adaptive Memory technology that learns & optimizes the drive’s performance to each user by moving repeatedly used information into the flash memory for faster access. It uses SATA 3Gb/s interface with Native Command Queuing.
Seagate’s 500GB Momentus XT costs $155. Also announced is the Seagate Momentus 750GB hard drive running at 7200RPM.
